A landseer nagy, eroteljes, harmonikus testfelépítésu kutya. Háta vízszintes, a marjától a faráig végig széles és eros. Mellkasa széles és mély. A has enyhén felhúzott. Fara széles és telt. A farok legfeljebb a csánk alá érhet, nyugalmi állapotban lelóg, csak a vége görbül kissé vissza. Könyökei szorosan a testéhez simulnak. Lábai egyenesek, függolegesek és izmosak. Széles mancsain szorosan egymás mellett ülnek az ujjak, amelyek között úszóhártya van. Nyakának keresztmetszete tojás alakú, lebernyeg gyakorlatilag nincs rajta. The Landseer is a dog breed. Many kennel clubs consider the Landseer to be simply a black-and-white variant of the Newfoundland, but the Fédération Cynologique Internationale recognizes it as a separate breed. This separate breed is called Landseer European Continental Type (E.C.T.).

The breed was named after the British painter Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, because in 1838 he created the painting The Distinguished Member of the Humane Society, which shows a dog of this breed.The Landseer Newfoundland dog is known for its sweet disposition, gentleness, and serenity. They enjoy swimming, and tend to drool, though not as much as some other giant breeds. While the Landseer European Continental Type is also sweet, affectionate and enjoys swimming he is quite different to the Landseer Newfoundland in regard to response, agility and speed.......... / Wikipedia /
